DURANGO, Colo. – January 23, 2016 –
Dallas Dickerson scored a game high 24 points to lead the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team to a nine-point win over New Mexico Highlands University Saturday night at Whalen Gymnasium, 89-80. The win improves the Skyhawks to 11-7 overall and 7-6 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Skyhawks held the lead in the game for nearly 36 minutes as they move to 6-2 at home this season. FLC trailed by no more than two points and led by as many as 15 points.
Dickerson came off the bench to make 10 of 16 field goals and 2 of 4 from long range. She added a game high five assists.
Astrea Reed sank 6 of 9 field goals and 2 of 6 from the free throw line for 15 points.
Alyssa Yocky came off the bench and added 14 points and 12 rebounds for her first career double-double.
Mary Rambo pulled down seven rebounds and scored 10 points, six of which came from the charity stripe.
FLC finished the game shooting 45.1 percent from the floor after making 32 of 71 field goals. The Skyhawks outscored the Cowgirls in second chance points, 23-14, and bench points, 48-36.
Fort Lewis will remain home next weekend, Jan. 29-30, when they face off against Regis and Chadron State.
