MSOC | Skyhawks, Orediggers Play to 2-2 2OT Draw

GOLDEN, Colo. – October 16, 2016 – After 110 minutes of action, the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team played to a 2-2 double overtime tie at Colorado School of Mines Sunday afternoon.  The tie was the Skyhawks first of the season as they move to 7-6-1 overall and 6-3-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  CSM is now 7-4-3 overall and 6-2-2 in the RMAC.
 
Trailing 1-0, Robbie Young scored his second goal of the season on an assist from Salifu Jatta at 16:01 in the first half. 
 
Tamino Kroeger gave FLC a 2-1 lead at 73:46 when he converted on a penalty kick.  The Orediggers Trevor Amann knotted the game in the 82nd minute, sending the game into two scoreless overtime periods.
 
FLC outshot the Orediggers, 20-14 (10-4 shots on goal), including 11-6 in the second half.
 
Jatta led the Skyhawks with four shots (two shots on goal), while Thomas de Faria's three shots all landed on target.
 
Elliot Chadderton played all 110 minutes between the posts, making two saves.
 
The Skyhawks will return home Oct.  21 and Oct. 23 to face Colorado Christian University and Colorado School of Mines for the second time in a week.
