ALAMOSA, Colo. – October 18, 2016 – Fort Lewis College was held to a 0.60 hitting percentage and 27 kills Tuesday night at Adams State University as the Grizzlies swept the Skyhawks volleyball team, 3-0 (-17, -22, -18).
Conversely, the Grizzlies hit .231 at the net with 46 kills.
FLC moves to 4-15 overall and 3-8 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. ASU improves to 11-9 overall and 6-5 in league matches.
Maddie LeBlanc and
Hannah Hargrove paced the Skyhawks with seven kills each. Hargrove committed only one hitting error to finish the match with a .500 hitting percentage in only two sets played.
Kendra Swackenberg recorded 22 of the Skyhawks 25 set assists. She also added two solo blocks and two digs.
Defensively,
Laine Waters assisted on four blocks and
Bailey Longacre added three block assists.
Ally Dell'Amico notched 11 digs and tallied three service aces.
Mallory Grimsrud led both teams with 14 kills and a .429 hitting mark.
The Skyhawks will travel to Westminster College Saturday afternoon for a 4 p.m. match against the Griffins.
