SALT LAKE CITY – October 22, 2016 – Westminster College downed the Fort Lewis College volleyball team in four sets Saturday afternoon in Salt Lake City.  FLC lost the first set 25-17 before tying the match 1-1 after winning set two, 25-21.  The Griffins won the last two sets, 25-23 and 25-17 to win the match.
 
FLC drops to 4-16 overall and 3-9 in conference matches.  WC improves to 4-17 overall and 2-10 in the league.
 
As a team the Skyhawks hit .095 at the net with 45 kills to go with seven team blocks.
 
Hannah Martinez led the Skyhawks with 12 kills.  She added a team high 20 digs and three blocks defensively.  Bailey Longacre chipped in nine kills and Hannah Hargrove added eight kills.
 
Setter Kendra Swackenberg tallied 39 assists and served up three of the Skyhawks five aces. 
 
Three Griffins recorded double digit kills with Savannah Ipsen leading both teams with 15.
 
FLC will play their next five matches at home, beginning this Friday and Saturday against New Mexico Highlands and CSU-Pueblo.
