Men's Soccer Records First Shutout in 1-0 Road Win

SALT LAKE CITY – October 2, 2016 – In only his second game of the season, Robbie Young led the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team to a 1-0 win at Westminster College Sunday afternoon.  The goal was Young's first of his career.  The shutout win also marked the first team this season FLC held their opponent scoreless.
 
The Skyhawks event their overall record to 5-5-0, and improve to 4-2-0 in league games.  WC drops to 2-7 overall and 1-5 in the RMAC.
 
Young's goal came at 73:54 when he took a touch on a volley from 15 yards out.
 
FLC attempted 20 shots against the Griffins, while the Skyhawks defense only allowed four shot attempts.  Eight of the Skyhawks goals landed on target.
 
Nicolas Perez, Salifu Jatta and Young each attempt three shots.
 
Elliot Chadderton made one save in 90 minutes to improve to 5-4-0 in goal.
 
The Skyhawks will play host to Adams State University on Wednesday, and Colorado State-Pueblo on Friday.  Both games will kick off at 3 p.m.
