COLORADO SPRINGS – October 28, 2016 – The Mountain Lions of UCCS handed the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team a 1-0 loss in overtime Friday night in Colorado Springs. In a tight battle for seeding for the RMAC men's soccer championship tournament, the Skyhawks fall two points behind UCCS in the league standings.
FLC entered the week with 25 points and a one point lead over UCCS. After tonight's setback, the Skyhawks are tied with MSU Denver for fifth place in the league heading into Sunday's final game of the regular season. The Skyhawks are 9-7-1 overall and 8-4-1 in league matches. UCCS improves to 10-6-1 overall and 9-4-0 in the RMAC.
Austin Seifert scored the game-winning goal at 96:45 after Cort Searls played him the ball from the right side.
Five of the Skyhawks 12 shots landed on goal. UCCS fired off 13 shots with four landing on goal.
FLC will play their final game of the regular season Sunday morning at MSU Denver. Kickoff is at 11 a.m.
