DENVER – October 30, 2016 – Josh Belfrage scored both goals Sunday afternoon to lead MSU Denver to a 2-0 win over the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team at the Regency Athletic Complex. The loss was the Skyhawks second straight shutout on the road (L, 1-0 in overtime on Friday at UCCS).
The Skyhawks end the regular season with a 9-8-1 overall record and an 8-5-1 league record.
Both of Belfrage's goals were scored in the second half. The game-winning goal was netted at 57:32 followed by the insurance goal at 68:21.
Raul Pescador tallied a tem high four shots as FLC outshot the Roadrunners, 15-8. Each team recorded four shots on goal.
FLC notched six corner kicks to the Roadrunners one corner kick, which resulted in MSU Denver's second goal of the game.
The Skyhawks are the No. 6 seed in the RMAC championship tournament and will play at No. 3 UCCS on Wednesday in the first round.
