DURANGO, Colo. – October 29, 2016 – Down two sets to zero, the Fort Lewis College volleyball team tied the match at 2-2 after winning sets three and four Saturday night against Colorado State University-Pueblo at Whalen Gymnasium, 25-18 and 25-23, but the Pack sealed the win in set five, 15-11.
With the loss, the Skyhawks move to 5-17 on the season and 4-10 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Pack improves to 9-14 overall and 7-7 in league matches.
Hannah Martinez and
Bailey Longacre led the Skyhawks defense with 11 and 10 kills, respectively. Martinez added a team high 26 digs and tied for team high honors with
Delaney Scanlan with three aces.
Kendra Swackenberg accounted for 32 of the Skyhawks 45 set assists. Defensive specialist
Ally Dell'Amico tallied 22 digs and Scanlan chipped in 14 digs and five assists.
Caitlin Broadwell led the ThunderWolves with a match high 18 kills.
The Skyhawks remain home Nov. 4 and Nov. 5 against Colorado Christian University and Colorado School of Mines.
