DURANGO, Colo. – November 5, 2016 – The 22
nd-ranked team in Division II – Colorado School of Mines – defeated the Fort Lewis College volleyball team in three sets Saturday evening at Whalen Gymnasium– 25-20, 27-25 and 25-20.
The Skyhawks move to 5-19 overall and 4-12 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. The Orediggers improve to 20-5 on the season and 14-2 in the RMAC.
FLC posted 36 kills and three service aces in the match.
Bailey Longacre led FLC with nine kills and a .316 hitting percentage.
Hannah Martinez notched eight kills and 12 digs, and
Laine Waters posted eight kills and a .250 hitting mark.
Kendra Swackenberg quarterbacked the offense with 32 set assists and 10 digs.
Ally Dell'Amico dug up 11 Orediggers attacks.
Ellie Monarch notched a match high 17 kills on 31 attempts as part of her .452 hitting mark.
The Skyhawks will play their final home game of the regular season on Monday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m. against Westminster College.
