PUEBLO, Colo. – February 27, 2016 – Fort Lewis College senior
Ellie Carpenter scored four goals Saturday afternoon to lead the women's lacrosse team to a 14-8 season opening win at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
The Skyhawks started the game trailing 2-0 in the first 19 minutes before scoring six straight goals.
Brooke Galle scored her first of three goals at 19:10 to put FLC on the scoreboard, followed by back-to-back goals by Carpenter.

Ryann Pierce and
Rebecca Miller all found the back of the net within seven minutes to give FLC a 6-2 lead.
Nikki Fry netted the last goal of the first half to give the Skyhawks a 7-3 lead at halftime.
The ThunderWolves started the second half scoring two straight goals to cut FLC's lead down to 7-5. The Skyhawks responded with goals by
Megan Longtain, Carpenter and Vertner.
The next three goals were scored by the Pack, all of which were netted by Leah Neumann.
Leading 10-8 with 7:11 left in regulation, the Skyhawks recorded goals by Carpenter, two by Galle and another goal by
Ryann Pierce.
Four of the Skyhawks goals were free position shots. Carpenter and Pierce each scored two.
Longtain led the Skyhawks with seven ground balls as FLC picked up 19 to CSU-Pueblo's 17.
Fort Lewis (1-0) will play at Adams State University Sunday at 1 p.m. in a non-conference game.
