Cade Kloster scored 24 points each to lead the Fort Lewis College men's basketball team to an 89-78 win Friday night at Whalen Gymnasium. Tonight's game was game two of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship tournament. In the first game of the night, Colorado School of Mines defeated Colorado Mesa University, 84-73.
With tonight's win, the Skyhawks improve to 26-3 overall, 16-0 at home and they improve their winning streak to 14 games.
Kloster was near perfect from the floor, making 7-of-9 field goals, 3-of-3 three-point field goals and 7-of-8 free throw attempts. He also pulled down three rebounds and dished out three assists. Nine of Blaylock's points came from three point range where he made 3-of-5.
Rasmus Bach came off the bench to score 17 points and pull down a game high eight rebounds. He added two assists and two steals.
Will Morse dished out a game high seven assists while senior forward
Austin Haldorson blocked a career high five shots.
The Skyhawks were solid from the floor, making 31-of-57 field goals (54.5 percent), 9-of-21 three point field goals (42.9 percent) and 18-of-20 free throws (90 percent).
FLC trailed for only 88 seconds in the game and held the lead for almost 37 minutes.
The Skyhawks dominated the paint, outscoring the Roadrunners 38-18. FLC outrebounded MSU Denver, 33-29.
FLC will play host to No. 2 seed Colorado School of Mines Saturday night at 7 p.m. This will be the third meeting between the two teams, both of which have been won by FLC. The Skyhawks have played in five RMAC championship tournament games. FLC is 3-2 in the championship tournament games.
