DURANGO, Colo. – April 24, 2016 – Thanks to a four goal performance by senior
Sara McMahon, the Fort Lewis College women's lacrosse team clinched a berth to the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference championship tournament after defeating Colorado State University-Pueblo, 15-8, Sunday afternoon at Ray Dennison Memorial Field.
The win improves the Skyhawks to 7-5 overall and 3-3 in league games. CSU-Pueblo is 8-7 overall and 3-3 in the RMAC.
Leading 3-2 halfway through the first half, the Skyhawks scored seven straight goals and headed into halftime with a 10-3 lead. Both teams found the back of the net five times in the second half, with FLC outshooting the Pack, 12-7.
McMahon finished the game with five points on four goals and an assist. Seven different Skyhawks scored a goal on Sunday.

Ellie Carpenter,
Brooke Galle and
Taylor Cabrera each scored two goals. Vertner added three assists to match McMahon for a game high five points.

Alyssa Spencer made seven saves and picked up a team high four ground balls. Carpenter led both teams with six draw controls and
Katlyne Duffey notched a team high three caused turnovers.
FLC will play their final game of the regular season on Friday at home against ASU. Game time is set for 3 p.m.
