SPEARFISH, S.D. – September 17, 2016 – The Fort Lewis College volleyball team served up nine aces Saturday night at Black Hills State University on their way to a 3-1 match win over the Yellow Jackets. The win moves the Skyhawks to 2-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and 3-7 overall.
Saturday's win also marked the first time since 2013 the Skyhawks have won back-to-back league games.
Ally Dell'Amico was responsible for five of the Skyhawks nine aces. Dell'Amico also dug up a team high 17 attacks.
Delaney Scanlan recorded 35 of FLC's 36 set assists, 10 of which went to
Hannah Martinez.
Laine Waters and
Maddie LeBlanc each tallied eight kills as FLC finished the match with 39 kills. The duo also added four assists each.
Bailey Longacre assisted on five blocks to go with her seven kills and two digs.
After playing their first 10 matches on the road, the Skyhawks will open their home season Sept. 23 against UCCS at 7 p.m., and MSU Denver on Sept. 24 at 5 p.m.
