Women’s Soccer Held Scoreless at MSU Denver

DENVER – September 25, 2016 – For the second straight game, the Fort Lewis College women's soccer team was held scoreless Sunday afternoon at Metropolitan State University, Denver, 1-0.  The Skyhawks were also shutout on Friday at Regis, 1-0.
 
The loss drops the Skyhawks to 3-4-1 overall and 2-2-0 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  MSU Denver improves to 3-3-2 overall and 2-2-0 in the RMAC.
 
Regina Banks scored the game-winning goal at 59:23 with Elise Boisnard's assist.
 
The Skyhawks out-shot the Roadrunners, 10-8, but landed only two shots on goal.
 
Alicia Sanchez and Shayla Malecki each attempted three shots.
 
Kaylee Mickens played all 90 minutes in goal, making one save and allowing one score.
 
The Skyhawks will continue their four game road swing next Friday at UCCS (7 p.m.), and Sunday at Western State (1 p.m.).
