DURANGO, Colo. – January 13, 2017 – Despite scoring nearly 30 points under their season average, the Fort Lewis College men's basketball team rolled to a 66-48 win over Black Hills State University Friday night at Whalen Gymnasium. The win marks the Skyhawks 25
th straight win at home as they improve to 14-3 overall and 9-2 in league games.
FLC led for nearly 37 minutes and took their largest lead of the game in the second half after grabbing a 23-point lead with 2:54 left in the game.
Daniel Hernandez came off the bench to lead all scorers with 16 points. Hernandez made 3-of-4 field goals and was nearly perfect from the charity stripe, making 9-of-10 attempts.
Joshua Blaylock hit 4-of-5 field goals and 2-of-4 free throws for 12 points, followed by
Will Morse's 10 points. Nine of Morse's points came from behind the arc as he made 3-of-6 to go with four assists.
Alex Semadeni led both teams with eight rebounds. He made all four field goal attempts for eight points.
Riley Farris chipped in nine points and three rebounds.
The Skyhawks hit 21-of-39 field goals for 53.8 percent, and 8-of-18 from three-point range for 44.4 percent.
Fort Lewis College will continue to defend their home court Saturday night when they play host to South Dakota School of Mines at 7:30 p.m.
