Hot Shooting Results in 98-75 Win over Hardrockers

DURANGO, Colo. – January 14, 2017 – The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team shot a blistering 74.1 percent from the floor (20-of-27) in the first half and finished the game with a 65.5 shooting percentage to post a 98-75 win at home over South Dakota School of Mines and Technology Saturday night.
 
The win is the Skyhawks 26th straight win at Whalen Gymnasium.  The 26-game home winning streak is the sixth best active home winning streak in NCAA Division II (Kentucky Wesleyan-40, Bellarmine-34, Northwest Missouri State-28, Barry University-29, and West Liberty-27).
 
FLC's 65.5 field goal shooting mark is the second best in program history (66.7 percent at Grand Canyon University, Nov. 26, 2008).
 
Joshua Blaylock scored a game high 27 points after hitting 9-of-13 from the floor and 4-of-5 from the charity stripe.  Fifteen of his points came from long range as he only missed three attempts from behind the arc.
 
Rasmus Bach scored 15 of his 19 points in the first half.  Bach made all five field goals attempts in the first half, including all three from long range.  He finished missing only one field goal attempt on eight tries.
 
Alex Semadeni and Daniel Hernandez came off the bench to each score 15 points.  Semadeni made 7-of-8 field goals and added three assists and two caroms. 
 
Will Morse dished out a career high 10 assists to go with his five points.
 
The Skyhawks committed only eight turnovers, two more than the Hardrockers. 
 
Fort Lewis will continue their four game home stand Jan. 20-21 against Regis University and Chadron State College.
