Men’s Soccer Hangs on to 1-0 Win over UCCS

DURANGO, Colo. – October 1, 2017 – Ryan Lee made a cross pass from the left side of the box to Landon Gibson who finished the play with a goal just two minutes from the start of the game to give the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team a 1-0 lead Sunday afternoon at Dirks Field.
 
The win improves FLC's record to 3-3-4 overall and 3-1-2 in league matches.
 
Lee's goal was the only goal of the game but both teams attempted a combined 23 shots.  Ten of the Skyhawks shot attempts came in the first half.
 
The Mountain Lions (2-6-2, 2-2-2 RMAC) attempted 12 corner kicks to FLC's two.
 
Gibson and Lee led FLC with three shot attempts each.
 
Peter Byrne made six saves in goal for his third shutout of the season.
 
FLC will travel to MSU Denver on Oct. 6 for a 7:30 p.m. match.  The Skyhawks will return home to play host to Colorado Christian University on Oct. 8 at 1 p.m.
