Men's Soccer Blanks Roadrunners, 3-0

DENVER – October 6, 2017 – Ryan Lee scored his second game-winning goal of the season and Peter Byrne made four saves on his way to his fourth shutout of the season to lead the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team to a 3-0 win Friday night at the Regency Complex in Denver.
 
The win improves FLC to 4-3-4 overall and 3-1-2 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.  MSU Denver drops to 4-7-0 overall and 4-3-0 in league matches.
 
After a scoreless first half, Lee's game-winning goal came from Raul Pescador at 53:31.  Lee played a through ball and chipped it in passed the goalkeeper.
 
An own goal at 67:18 off a corner kick gave FLC a 2-0 lead.
 
Churchill Onumonu netted his second goal of the season at 72:41.  Onumonu took a shot from the left end line and curved the ball into the right corner for the third and final goal of the game.
 
The Skyhawks dominated the offense, outshooting the Roadrunners by eight, 24-16.
 
Lee and Onumonu each attempted five shots, with three landing on goal.
 
The Skyhawks return home to play host to Colorado Christian University on Sunday at 1 p.m. from Dirks Field.
