DURANGO, Colo. – October 20, 2017 – One week after charting a 2-1 win at Regis University, the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team added another win against the Rangers. FLC defeated Regis, 1-0, Friday afternoon at Dirks Field.
Raul Pescador and
Peter Byrne led FLC to their fifth shutout of the season.
Pescador, who also netted a goal last Friday in FLC's win at Regis, scored the game-winning goal at 52:35 for his second goal of the season. Max Fuentes flicked a pass to Pescador who took a shot from the left side into the back of the net.
Byrne faced 14 shot attempts from Regis and stopped all nine shots on goal.
FLC (7-4-4, 7-2-2 RMAC) was outshot by the Rangers (6-7-0, 4-7-0 RMAC), 14-9. Six of the Skyhawks nine shots were on target.
Churchill Onumonu tied for game-high honors with three shot attempts (two on goal).
FLC will play host to No. 15 Colorado School of Mines on Sunday at 1 p.m. The game will be Senior Day for Skyhawks seniors
