Skyhawks Drop 2-1 Decision at Colorado Christian

LAKEWOOD – October 26, 2017 –The Fort Lewis College women's soccer team dropped a 2-1 decision to Colorado Christian University Thursday afternoon in Lakewood, Colo. at Trailblazer Stadium.

The Skyhawks entered the game in eighth place in the conference standings with 12 points.  The loss moves FLC to 4-9-1 overall and 4-7-0 in the RMAC.

"We scored a great goal," said head coach Jimmy Hall.  "We thought the buildup was really good and the attack was decent.  The field is small and they pressured everywhere.  They definitely capitalized off of two set pieces. We didn't do enough to win, unfortunately.  We're battling and grinding, we're just not getting the bounces.  We'll come back out and get to work on Saturday at Mines."

Emma Patron gave FLC a 1-0 lead at 11:22 after she cleaned up a shot that was deflected off a CCU defender.

Eleven minutes later, Sarah Feller tied the game from a corner kick.  The Cougars landed the game-winning goal at 32:25.

All five of CCU's shot attempts came in the first half.  The Skyhawks fired off two shots in each half.

Alicia Sanchez led FLC with two shots.  Patron's goal was the only shot attempt on goal for FLC.

FLC will travel to Colorado School of Mines for the final game of the regular season on Saturday.  The 2017 RMAC championship bracket will be announced Saturday night.
