Emma Patron scored two goals Friday afternoon, including the game-winning goal, to lead the Fort Lewis College women's soccer team to a 4-1 win at Black Hills State University.
The win improves the Skyhawks to 3-6-1 overall and 3-4-0 in league matches.
Meredith Curran found the back of the net at 7:20 for the first goal of the game.
Patron's game-winning goal, her first goal of the season, was a pass across the box into the back corner of the net at 17:45.
Alicia Sanchez notched her second goal of the year at 31:02 off a free kick.
The YellowJackets (0-10, 0-5 RMAC) Katie Nielson scored just before halftime to prevent the shutout.
Patron's insurance goal came in the 67
th minute when she fired a shot from 25 yards out.
Fort Lewis outshot BSHU, 16-9, and shots on goal, 9-5.
Sanchez tallied a game high six shot attempts and three shots on goal. Patron added five shots (three on goal).
The Skyhawks will return home for two matches over Homecoming weekend. FLC will play host to Colorado Mesa University on Oct. 13 at 3 p.m., and Westminster College at 1 p.m.
