DURANGO, Colo. – October 6, 2017 – The 22
nd-ranked team in NCAA Division II handed the Fort Lewis College volleyball team a 3-0 setback Friday night at Whalen Gymnasium. Colorado School of Mines won the match, 25-21, 25-14, and 25-23.
Fort Lewis was held to a .058 hitting mark after tallying 25 kills on 104 attempts and committing 19 errors.
Hannah Martinez paced the offense with six kills, followed by
Bailey Longacre's and
Emily Dellenbach's five kills.
Kendra Swackenberg accounted for 20 of FLC's 23 set assists. Swackenberg added one kill and eight digs.
The defense was led by
Megan Graefe's 16 digs and
Elise Hill's 11 digs.
Maddie LeBlanc assisted on four blocks while
Laine Waters added four blocks (one solo).
FLC finished with 10 blocks on the night.
The Orediggers hit .260 at the net and added 52 kills.
Fort Lewis will play host to Colorado Christian University on Oct. 7 at 5 p.m.
