DURANGO, Colo. – October 7, 2017 – The Fort Lewis College volleyball team won set one, 25-20, Saturday night against Colorado Christian University in Whalen Gymnasium, but the Cougars responded by winning the final three sets (-23, -21, -17) to win the match, 3-1.
The loss moves FLC to 8-8 overall and 3-5 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference matches. CCU improves to 10-7 on the season and 7-1 in league matches.
Hannah Martinez posted a double-double with 10 kills and 14 digs. She hit .175 at the net after committing only three errors on 40 attempts.
Laine Waters hit a solid .321 offensively with 10 kills on 28 attempts (one error).
Emily Dellenbach tallied a team high 11 kills and hit .226 to go with her two digs.
Kendra Swackenberg finished the match with 40 set assists, three kills and six digs.
Maddie LeBlanc blocked three attacks and added four kills and three digs.
Megan Graefe led the back row with 24 digs.
Chrystianne Valdez and
Elise Hill added 11 and 10 digs, respectively.
CCU notched 64 kills on the night and hit .205. Sophia Proano posted a match high 18 kills.
The Skyhawks will remain home Oct. 13-14 when they play host to Chadron State College and Regis University during Homecoming weekend.
