PUEBLO, Colo. – December 1, 2017 – Facing the defending Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference champions, the 11
th-ranked Fort Lewis College women's basketball team dropped a 63-48 decision at Colorado State-Pueblo Friday night in the first game of the conference season.
The loss was the first setback of the season for the Skyhawks (5-1, 0-1 RMAC). The win was the third victory for the Pack as they improve to 3-4 overall (1-0 RMAC).
The 48 points scored by the Skyhawks are a season low. FLC was outscored in the final two quarters, 16-9 and 20-12, respectively.
FLC attempted 15 fewer free throws than the ThunderWolves. The Skyhawks made 6-of-12 from the charity stripe, while CSUP hit 21-of-27 (77.8 percent).
Vivian Gray notched her second double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds. She added four assists, three blocks and two steals.
Astrea Reed added 13 point and four rebounds. Reed and Gray accounted for 60 percent of the Skyhawks points.
FLC finished the game making 21-of-56 field goals (37.5 percent), and were held without a three-point field goal on 10 attempts.
The Pack's Molly Rohrer tied Gray for game high honors with 16 points. Katie Cunningham led both teams with 13 rebounds.
Fort Lewis will travel to New Mexico Highlands University on Saturday for a 5 p.m. game.
