Women’s Basketball Start Conference Play on the Road

  • The Skyhawks will continue their four game road swing when they open conference play at Colorado State-Pueblo (2-4) and at New Mexico Highlands (2-3). The Skyhawks will face the ThunderWolves on Friday, Dec. 1 at 5:30 p.m. and the Cowboys on Sat., Dec. 2 at 5 p.m.
  • The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team is ranked No. 11 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) National poll.
  • FLC has been ranked in all three WBCA polls this season.  The highest the Skyhawks have ever been nationally rank was No. 2 (2008-09 season).
  • Fort Lewis holds a current record of 5-0 (4-0 vs. NCAA Division II teams).
  • The Skyhawks were defeated twice last year by the ThunderWolves (56-79, 50-66).  CSUP is the defending RMAC regular season champions and are favored to win the RMAC in the pre-season poll.
  • Fort Lewis swept New Mexico Highlands last year (79-48, 74-58)
  • The Skyhawks fall within the top five in the RMAC for scoring (third, 76.0 points per game), scoring defense (third, 54.0 points allowed per game), scoring margin (second, +22.0), free throw percent (third, .785), field goal percent (fifth, .421), blocked shots (third, 18) and assists (second, 93).
  • Freshman Vivian Gray is ranked in the top 10 in the RMAC in scoring (second, 16.2 points per game), rebounds (third, 9.2 per game), assists (eighth, 3.6), and blocked shots (fourth, 1.8).
  • Senior Astrea Reed is seventh in the RMAC in free throw pct. (.895).
  • Briana Clah leads the league in assists to turnover ratio with 4.3 mark.  She has dished out 17 assists and committed only four turnovers. Her 3.4 dimes per game are the 10th most in the RMAC.
  • Sophomore Kayla Herrera has pulled down 7.2 rebounds per game, the eighth most in the league this season.  She is also averaging 2.0 steals per game, just .8 steals behind the league leader.
  • After playing four straight road games, the Skyhawks will return home for the Third Annual White Out game on Friday, Dec. 8 at 5:30 p.m. to face Colorado Mesa University. The first 1,300 fans will receive free t-shirts.  One lucky fan will be selected for a chance to a win free 2018 Ford Escape during the men's halftime Basketball Challenge Contest.  FLC will play host to Western State on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
