Men’s Basketball Prepares for Three Games

  • The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team stayed at No. 15 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) in this week's poll.
  • This is their fifth straight week being ranked in the NABC Top 25 poll.
  • In the next seven days the Skyhawks take on Adams State (5-5, 3-1 RMAC), Westminster College (7-1, 3-1 RMAC) and Northern New Mexico College (5-9). The Skyhawks will face the Grizzlies on Tues., Dec. 12 at 7:30p.m., then hit the road to play the Griffins on Fri., Dec. 15 at 7:30p.m. and head back home to face the Eagles Mon., Dec. 18 at 7:30p.m.
  • Against the Grizzlies, FLC leads the all-time series 67-51 and 35-13 in Whalen Gymnasium.  
  • The Griffins lead the all-time series 22-16 against FLC and the Skyhawks fall to 2-8 on the road.
  • The Skyhawks defeated the Eagles 95-81 in an earlier meeting this season.
  • Fort Lewis enters this week 7-1 this season (4-1 vs. NCAA Division II schools), and 4-0 in the RMAC.
  • The Skyhawks lead the RMAC in scoring offense (89.7 points per game). The Skyhawks fall within the top five in the league in scoring margin (second, +12.6), field goal percentage (second, .506), rebounding offense (second, 38.9 per game), blocked shots (fifth, 3.7 per game) and assists (first, 18.3 per game).
  • Senior Rasmus Bach has scored 1,505 career points.  He needs 356 points to break the all-time scoring record held by DeAndre Lansdowne (2007-11) who has 1,861 career points. Bach is currently sixth in all-time career leaders for points and second for free throws (396).
  • Bach ranks in the top 10 in the RMAC for scoring (10th, 16.3), free throw percent (T-first, 1.000) and assists (third, 38, avg. 5.4).  He has made all 28 attempts at the charity stripe.
  • Brandon Wilson ranks in the top 10 in the league for rebounds with 59 (second), averaging 8.4 per game, field goal percentage with .554 (10th) and blocked shots (eighth, 1.1 per game)
  • On Monday, Wilson was named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week.
  • Marquel Beasley is ranked third in the RMAC for blocked shots with 12, averaging 1.7 per game and 10th for rebounds with 349, averaging 7.0 per game.
