DURANGO – December 12, 2017 – Twelve Fort Lewis College Skyhawks scored at least two points Tuesday night as the 16
th-ranked Skyhawks defeated Adams State University, 82-47, in Whalen Gymnasium.
The win improves the Skyhawks to 9-1 overall, 4-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and 6-0 at home.
The Skyhawks, who never trailed in the game, led by as many as 44 points in the third quarter. FLC held the Grizzlies (2-5, 0-5 RMAC) to seven points in each the first and third quarters.
Astrea Reed, this week's RMAC Offensive Player of the Week, led three Skyhawks in double digits with 16 points. Reed hit 7-of-8 field goals and 2-of-3 from long distance while dishing out four assists and adding three steals.
Shelby Patterson came off the bench to record 14 points. Patterson made both three-point field goal attempts and was 4-for-4 from the charity stripe.
Vivian Gray chipped in 10 rebounds, dished out a game high six assists, blocked four shots and pulled down six rebounds.
The Skyhawks shot 46.3 percent from the floor (31-of-67) and 88.2 percent from the charity stripe (15-of-17). FLC out-rebounded the Grizzlies, 43-34, and committed 12 fewer turnovers (14-26).
ASU was held to 29.6 percent in field goals (16-of-54) and 21.7 from long range (5-of-23).
FLC will play at Westminster College on Friday, Dec. 15 at 5:30 p.m.
