No. 22 Fort Lewis Continues Home Stand Dec. 29-30

  • The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team continues their five game home stand this weekend against Chadron State College and Regis University.  Friday's game will tip-off at 5 p.m. against CSC, followed by Saturday's game at 7:30 p.m. vs. Regis.
     
  • FLC is currently in a four-way tie for first place in the league standings with Colorado Mines, Westminster and MSU Denver (5-1).  The Skyhawks are 9-2 overall and 6-0 at home.
     
  • The Eagles enter the weekend 3-9 overall and are tied for 13th in the standings with a 1-5 mark.  Regis is one game behind the Skyhawks in the league standings at 4-2 (10-2 overall).
     
  • Fort Lewis College moved to No. 22 in this week's National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll.
     
  • This is their sixth straight week being ranked in the NABC Top 25 poll.
     
  • In his third year, head coach Bob Pietrack is 67-13 (.836), and 46-8 in RMAC games (.852), and has led the Skyhawks to back-to-back NCAA Tournament appearances.
     
  • The Skyhawks lead the RMAC in scoring offense (89.5 points per game), scoring margin (+12.5 points per game), rebound margin (+5.5), assist-to-turnover margin (1.45) and field goal percent defense (42.4 percent). The Skyhawks fall within the top three in the league in assists per game (second, 18.0), fewest turnovers (second, 137), field goal percentage (second, 50.0 percent), and third in the league in three-point field goal percentage (40.6).
     
  • Senior Rasmus Bach has scored 1,545 career points.  He needs 317 points to break the all-time scoring record held by DeAndre Lansdowne (2007-11) who has 1,861 career points. Bach is currently fifth in the career books in scoring, second in made free throws (403), eighth in field goals made (523) and 16th in rebounds (532).
     
  • This season, Bach ranks in the top 10 in the RMAC for free throw percent (fourth, 89.7), assists (fourth, 56), assist-to-turnover ratio (eighth, 1.70) and assists per game (fourth (5.1).  
     
  • Brandon Wilson ranks in the top 10 in the league for rebounds with 87 (fifth), and third in rebounds per game (7.9).
     
  • Marquel Beasley is currently third in the RMAC in field goal percentage (54.8 percent), fourth in blocked shots per game (1.45), fifth in total blocks (16) and 10th in total rebounds (75).
     
  • FLC will stay at home Jan. 5-6 when they play host to MSU Denver and UCCS.  Both games are slated to tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
