DURANGO – December 29, 2017 – The 15
th-ranked Fort Lewis College women's basketball team charted their seventh straight win Friday night after defeating Chadron State College, 86-48, in Whalen Gymnasium.
The Skyhawks, who are in the middle of a five game home stand, improve to 12-1 overall and 6-1 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. They are also boasting a perfect home record at 8-0.
The 48 points scored by the Eagles is the fifth time this season FLC has not allowed their opponent to score more than 50 points.
Twelve Skyhawks netted at least two points with
Vivian Gray leading all scorers. Gray made 8-of-14 from the floor and all six free throws for 22 points. She added six rebounds, four blocks, two assists and a steal.
Kayla Herrera chipped in 11 points after missing only two attempts from the floor. She notched a game high six steals and added three assists.
Fort Lewis led the Eagles for all but 14 seconds in the game and led by as many as 40 with 21 seconds remaining.
FLC tallied 48 rebounds to the Eagles 33 and outscored CSC on second chance points, 11-5.
The Skyhawks will play host to Regis University on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
