Women’s Basketball Continues Home Stand against the Orediggers

UPCOMING GAMES
The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team continues their home stand on Friday against Colorado School of Mines. Friday's game is the only meeting during the regular season between the Skyhawks and Orediggers.
 
Fans are encouraged to wear white to the game and the first 2,000 fans will receive a free Skyhawks t-shirt, sponsored by Durango Motor Company. Tip-off starts at 5:30 p.m.  Friday's game is part of the NCAA Showcase schedule. Both Skyhawks games on Friday will be aired on Altitude 2 and Comcast Entertainment Television (CET).
 
NOTES
The Skyhawks enter the weekend with the fourth best league record.  FLC is 13-6 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference, and 18-6 overall. 
 
Fort Lewis is coming off a weekend sweep at home against Western State Colorado University (67-36) and Colorado Mesa University (77-50).
 
Briana Clah led the Skyhawks this weekend at home which earned her the RMAC Offensive Player of the Week. She averaged 20.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.0 assists in the two games this past weekend.
 
In the win against the Mountaineers, Clah tallied 19 points and five rebounds. Alyssa Yocky added 12 points and nine rebounds. In what proved to be a fantastic defensive effort, the Skyhawks held WSCU to 36 points in the game which is the lowest point total allowed in the RMAC this season and the third lowest total allowed for the Skyhawks all time.
 
On Saturday, Clah led Fort Lewis in scoring after pouring in 22 points and collecting eight rebounds. Kayla Herrera added 21 points and six steals in the win against the Mavericks.
 
Clah leads Fort Lewis in scoring with an average of 14.6 points per game, which ranks sixth in the RMAC. Clah is fifth in the conference for assists, averaging 3.5 per game.
                                                                                                
Ande Lampert has rejected 1.4 shots per game in 24 games which is tied for second most blocked shot average in the RMAC.
 
Alyssa Yocky has grabbed the second most rebounds in the league. She is averaging 9.0 rebounds per game.
 
Kayla Herrera is tied for the league lead in steals by swiping the ball 44 times this season (1.8 per game).
 
Fort Lewis owns the best three-point field goal defense percentage (26.1 percent) and best field goal percentage defense (33.6 percent) in the RMAC. The Skyhawks are second in the league for scoring defense (59.0 points per game) and blocked shots with 102 rejections (4.3 per game).
 
SCOUTING THE Orediggers
Colorado School of Mines is seventh in the league standings with an 11-7 record. The Orediggers are 15-12 overall and 6-4 on the road.
 
Friday's meeting will be the first meeting between the two this season.
 
Emily Bailey leads the Orediggers in scoring (14.1 points per game) and blocked shots (1.3 per game). Bailey's blocked shots average is fourth in the RMAC.
 
Colorado Mines has the third highest scoring offense in the conference averaging 70.0 points per game. The Orediggers lead the league in rebounds per game corralling 43.2 per game this season.

Fort Lewis College will finish their four game home stand against Adams State University on Tuesday, Feb. 21st. The game will be Senior Night for the Skyhawks lone senior – Ande Lampert.  Action starts at 5:30 p.m.
