Skyhawks Close Out Regular Season against Grizzlies, Griffins

UPCOMING GAMES
The Fort Lewis College women's basketball team will play their final regular season home game on Tuesday, Feb. 21 against Adams State University.  The Skyhawks will then travel to Salt Lake City to play Westminster College in the final game of the regular season.
 
NOTES
FLC enters the final week of the regular season tied with Regis University for fourth place in the league standings (14-6).  The Skyhawks are 19-6 overall and are on a three game winning streak and have won six of their last seven games.  FLC has won four straight games at Whalen Gymnasium.
 
The Skyhawks road record is as strong as their home record.  FLC is 9-3 at home and 9-3 when playing on the road.
 
Fort Lewis had a single game last week, earning a 72-60 win at home over Colorado School of Mines.
 
Redshirt freshman Kayla Herrera matched a career high in points with 27 against CSM. She made 9-of-13 field goals and 5-of-7 three-point field goals while adding three rebounds and three steals.
 
Briana Clah leads Fort Lewis in scoring with an average of 14.1 points per game, which ranks eighth in the RMAC. Clah is fifth in the conference for assists, averaging 3.5 per game.
                                                                                                
Ande Lampert has rejected 1.5 shots per game in 25 games which is the third most blocked shot average in the RMAC.
 
Alyssa Yocky has grabbed the second most rebounds in the league. She is averaging 8.9 rebounds per game.
 
Kayla Herrera leads the league in steals by swiping the ball 47 times this season (1.9 per game).
 
Fort Lewis owns the best three-point field goal defense percentage (25.6 percent) and best field goal percentage defense (33.4 percent) in the RMAC. The Skyhawks are second in the league for scoring defense (59.0 points per game) and blocked shots with 106 rejections (4.2 per game).
 
SCOUTING THE GRIZZLIES
Adams State University is tied for 14th place in the league standings with a 1-19 RMAC record.  The Grizzlies are 2-21 overall.  Both wins occurred on the road for ASU.
 
The Grizzlies are averaging 54.5 points per game and are out-scored an average of 16.0 points per game this season.
 
Cydney McHenry leads the team with 9.9 points per game.
 
SCOUTING THE GRIFFINS
Westminster College boasts a 10-14 overall record and an 8-12 RMAC record, the 11th best record in the league. 
 
The Griffins own a 5-5 record at home this season.  Their most notable win was an 85-81 upset win over then No.-3 ranked and undefeated Colorado State-Pueblo on Feb. 10.  WC is averaging 60.4 points per game, 4.3 less than their opponents.
 
Sydnee Taylor is averaging a team best 11.7 points per game.

Fort Lewis College has clinched a berth in the RMAC Basketball Championship Tournament and will play Feb. 28 in the quarterfinal round.  The official bracket and seedings will be announced this weekend.
