DURANGO, Colo. – April 7, 2017 –
Delaney Benson assisted on four goals and scored two to lead the Fort Lewis College women's lacrosse team to a 15-2 win over Adams State University Friday afternoon at Ray Dennison Memorial Field. The non-conference win improves FLC to 5-5 on the season, while the Grizzlies drop to 1-9. Today's 15-2 win is the Skyhawks third straight win.
The Skyhawks two goals allowed are the second fewest in school history. Benson's four assists and the team's 12 assists each tie for the third most in a single game in program history.
Nikki Fry started the scoring spree by scoring the first two goals of the game within 30 seconds of each goal.
Taylor Cabrera netted the game-winning goal at 22:50 on a free position shot.
The Skyhawks led 10-1 at halftime and took their largest lead of the game, 14-1, with 11:50 left in regulation.
Fry finished the game with her second straight hat trick and tabbed an assist.
Brooke Galle, Cabrera and
Rebecca Miller joined Fry and Benson as multi-goal scorers.
FLC outshot Adams State, 36-5. The Skyhawks forced 24 turnovers by ASU while committing only 11 as a team.

The Skyhawks will play host to University of Colorado Colorado Springs on April 13 at 3 p.m.
