WICHITA FALLS, Texas – September 1, 2017 – No. 6 Midwestern State University scored three unanswered goals to hand the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team a 3-0 setback Friday night in Wichita Falls, Texas, in the Skyhawks season opener.
MSU's Scott Doney headed in the game-winning goal at 20:48 as the Skyhawks trailed 1-0 heading into halftime.
The Mustangs found the back of the net two more times in the second half to seal the win, 3-0.
Fort Lewis was held to five shot attempts.
Salifu Jatta,
Raul Pescador and
Hakeem Rabiu each landed a shot on target.
Four of the Mustangs nine shots landed on goal.
Peter Byrne made his first start in goal, stopping one shot on goal.
The Skyhawks will face Texas A&M-International in Wichita Falls, Texas on Sunday at 10 a.m. (MT).
