ALAMOSA, Colo. – September 29, 2017 – For only the second time in school history, the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team lost to Adams State University. The Skyhawks fell to the Grizzlies Friday afternoon, 2-1.
The loss also marks the first setback of the conference season for the Skyhawks, as they move to 2-3-4 overall and 2-1-2 in league matches. ASU improves to 6-3-0 overall and 3-2-0 in the RMAC.
The last time FLC suffered a loss from the Grizzlies was a 1-0 decision on Sept. 25, 2013 at Dirks Field.
The Grizzlies Leo Barba scored both goals, recording the first goal of the game at 56:55, and the second at 76:09.
Ryan Lee found the back of the net for the third time this season 24 seconds after Barba's second goal on an assist from
Raul Pescador.
Ten of the Skyhawks 11 shot attempts came in the second half.
Salifu Jatta accounted for seven shot attempts (two on goal).
Peter Byrne stopped five shots in 90 minutes in goal.
FLC will return home to play host to UCCS Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
