Men’s Soccer Ties with Rattlers, 1-1

DURANGO – September 8, 2017 – Ty Lang scored the first goal of the season for the Fort Lewis College men's soccer team Friday afternoon at Dirks Field in the Skyhawks home opener.  The match ended in a 1-1 double overtime tie.
 
Lang's goal came in the 55th minute off a corner kick from Danny Baca.
 
St. Mary's knotted the game with five minutes left in regulation on a cross pass headed in by Tommy Fogarty Cameron.
 
SMU posted 22 shots to the Skyhawks 16.  FLC was outshot in both overtime periods, 7-2.
 
Churchill Onumonu led FLC with five shots (two shots on goal).
 
Peter Byrne moves to 0-1-2 in goal after stopping 12 of 13 shots on goal.
 
FLC will play host to No. 7 St. Edward's University on Sunday at 11 a.m.
