Men’s Basketball Travels to Black Hills State, South Dakota Mines

  • The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team will be on the road to play Black Hills State and South Dakota Mines. Friday's game will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday's will start at 5:30 p.m.
  • The Yellow Jackets have earned a 9-5 overall record and a 5-4 RMAC record.
  • Saturday's opponent, South Dakota Mines, has lost their last three games. The Hardrockers are 6-8 overall and 3-6 in the RMAC.
  • Fort Lewis College moved to No. 21 in this week's National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll, dropping one spot from last week's ranking of No.20.
  • This is their eighth straight week being ranked in the NABC Top 25 poll.
  • The Skyhawks lead the RMAC in scoring offense (90.4 points per game), scoring margin (+12.4 points per game), rebound margin (+4.8) and field goal percentage (51.2). The Skyhawks are second in the league in assist-to-turnover margin (second, 1.40), blocked shots per game (second, 4.4), total blocks (second, 62) and field goal percent defense (second, 43.1 percent) and assists per game (second, 17.4).
  • Senior Rasmus Bach has scored 1,608 career points.  He needs 253 points to break the all-time scoring record held by DeAndre Lansdowne (2007-11) who has 1,861 career points. Bach is currently fourth in the career books in scoring, second in made free throws (426), eighth in field goals made (542) and 12th in rebounds (554).
  • Through 15 games this season, Bach is in the top ten in the RMAC for assists (fifth, 60), assists per game (fifth, 4.3), and minutes played (fifth, 34:13).
  • Brandon Wilson ranks in the top 10 in the league in rebounds per game (seventh, 7.1), and eighth in blocks per game (1.1).  He has been named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week twice this season (Jan. 1, 2018 and Dec. 11, 2017).
  • Marquel Beasley is currently sixth in the RMAC in rebounds (7.2), seventh in blocked shots per game (1.1), total blocks (17) and fifth for steals per game (1.4).
  • Riley Farris is within the top ten the RMAC for field goal percentage (ninth, 55.8), blocked shots per game (eighth, 1.1) and 3-point field goal percentage (seventh, 48.4).
  •  FLC will finish their four game road trip next weekend against Regis on Jan. 19 and Chadron State on Jan. 20.
