GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – February 10, 2018 – A strong second half at Colorado Mesa University was not enough as the Fort Lewis College women's basketball team lost a 14-point decision to the Mavericks, 66-52, Saturday night at Brownson Arena.
The Skyhawks (19-6, 13-6 RMAC) outscored Colorado Mesa (18-7, 12-7 RMAC) in the second half, 34-21, but FLC trailed the Mavericks by 27 points at halftime, 45-18.
Astrea Reed paced FLC with 13 points after making 5-of-15 field goals to go with her six rebounds.
Briana Clah came off the bench to add 11 points and five rebounds.
Kelsey Wainright chipped in eight points and eight rebounds.
The Skyhawks made 17-of-51 field goals for 33.3 percent and were held to 2-of-13 three-point field goals (15.4 percent).
Fort Lewis will play one game next weekend when they travel to Colorado School of Mines on Feb. 16. Tip-off is set for 5 p.m. and will be broadcast on Comcast.
