FLC on the Road against Orediggers

  • Fort Lewis College will play one game this weekend.  The Skyhawks travel to Colorado School of Mines for a 7 p.m. game against the Orediggers.
     
  • The Skyhawks hold the best record in the league (17-2 RMAC) and a 21-3 overall record.  FLC has clinched a spot in the RMAC tournament, including a home game in the quarterfinal round.
     
  • The Orediggers are fifth in the league with a 12-6 league record (18-6 overall).
     
  • In the first of three regular season NCAA Division II Men's Basketball South Central Regional rankings, FLC is ranked No. 4.  The NCAA will release rankings again on Feb. 21 and Feb. 28.  The 2018 NCAA tournament field will be announced on Sunday, March 4.
     
  • Fort Lewis College stayed at No. 14 in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll this week.
     
  • The Skyhawks lead the RMAC in scoring offense (87.2 points per game), scoring margin (+12.4 points per game), defensive rebounds (28.8), field goal percentage (.504), field goal percentage defense (.418), rebounding margin (4.3) and turnovers forced (14.3).
     
  • Senior Rasmus Bach has scored 1,743 career points.  He needs 119 points to break the all-time scoring record held by DeAndre Lansdowne (2007-11) who has 1,861 career points. Bach is currently third in the career books in scoring, second in made free throws (471), sixth in field goals made (584) and ninth in assists (304).
     
  • Through 24 games this season, Bach is in the top 10 in the RMAC in assists per game (fifth, 4.0), assists to turnover ratio (ninth, 1.4), free throw attempts (ninth, 121), free throws made (ninth, 103), free throw percentage (eighth, .851), and minutes played per game (third, 34:22).
     
  • Brandon Wilson ranks in the top 10 in the league in rebounds per game (second, 8.1) and ninth in total blocks (24).  He has been named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week three times this season (Jan. 29, 2018 Jan. 1, 2018 and Dec. 11, 2017).
     
  • Marquel Beasley is currently seventh in the RMAC in rebounds (7.0), second in field goal percentage (56.1), and seventh in total blocks (26).
     
  • Rasmus Bach and junior Alex Semadeni were named to the 2018 RMAC All-Academic First Team.
     
  • The Skyhawks will play their final road game of the regular season at Adams State Tuesday, on Feb. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
