GOLDEN, Colo. – February 16, 2018 – The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team fell on the road at Colorado School of Mines Friday night, 79-68. The loss is the fourth straight game the Skyhawks have fallen to the Orediggers.
Friday's setback was only the fourth loss of the season for the 14
th-ranked Skyhawks as they move to 21-4 overall and 17-3 in league games. The Orediggers improve to 19-6 on the season and 13-6 in the RMAC.
Daniel Hernandez netted a team high 21 points. Hernandez was solid from the floor, making 8-of-12 field goals and dishing out three assists.
DJ Miles added 15 points while hitting 6-of-7 from the charity stripe.
Marquel Beasley blocked five shots and chipped in eight points and three rebounds.
FLC shot 41.8 percent from the floor and were held to a 14.3 three-point field goal shooting mark (1-of-7).
CSM was led by Michael Glen's game high 27 points. Ben Sonnefeld and Adam Laine each pulled down 10 caroms.
The Skyhawks will travel to Adams State University on Tuesday, Feb. 20.
