Softball Opens Home and RMAC Season Feb. 25-26

  • The Fort Lewis College softball team will open their home season and RMAC play on Sunday, Feb. 25 with a double-header starting at 12 p.m. against Colorado Mines at the Tiger Sports Complex in Aztec, N.M.  Both teams will square off again on Monday for two games, beginning at 11 a.m.
     
  • The Skyhawks hold a record of 6-8 overall.  The Orediggers have an overall record of 6-6.
     
  • Fort Lewis is ranked in the top five in the RMAC in multiple categories including doubles (t-third, 17), runs scored (fourth, 60), walks (t-first, 34), hits (fourth, 93), home runs (third, 12), at-bats (first, 338), stolen bases (fourth, 18), batters struck out (third, 52), innings pitched (first, 77.2) and assists (second, 103).
     
  • Lauren Caldwell is 12th in the RMAC with a batting average of .419.
     
  • Mandy Lorenson is seventh in the RMAC with an ERA of 3.12. She is ranked in the top five in the RMAC in several categories including batters struck out (third, 32), and fifth in strikeouts per seven innings pitched (6.3).
     
  • Angelique Elemen leads the league in hits (20), total bases (41) and homeruns (six).  She ranks third in RBIs (16) and sixth in slugging percentage (.854).
     
  • Denae Fisher is a perfect 12-for-12 in stolen bases. Along with her 12 stolen bases, Fisher also leads the RMAC in walks (13).
     
  • The Skyhawks will remain at Aztec Tiger Sports Complex for a four-game series March 3-4 against Colorado Christian University.
