Skyhawks Fall at Home, 63-61

DURANGO, Colo. – February 3, 2018 – The Colorado State University-Pueblo women's basketball team handed Fort Lewis College their first loss at home this season Saturday night.  The Skyhawks fell, 63-61, moving their record to 18-5 overall and 12-5 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (13-1 home record).
 
Trailing by five points at halftime (31-26), FLC outscored the Pack (17-6, 15-2 RMAC) in the third quarter, 23-13, after shooting 63.6 percent from the floor (7-of-11).
 
FLC led by seven points, 55-48, with 5:54 left in the game, but were outscored 15-6 the remainder of the game.  The ThunderWolves Tuileisu Anderson and Katie Cunningham combined to score all 15 points for CSUP.  Anderson, who finished with a game high 22 points, netted nine points in the final 5:54.
 
Vivian Gray scored eight of her 20 points from the free throw line.  She added 11 rebounds, three blocked shots and two assists.
 
Astrea Reed sank 5-of-16 field goals as part of her 15 points.  Kayla Herrera finished with 14 points, three assists and two steals.
 
The Skyhawks shot 32.8 percent from the floor after making 19-of-58.  FLC attempted 12 more free throws than the ThunderWolves, and finished making 19-of-24 (79.2 percent).
 
Fort Lewis held a 45-36 rebounding advantage and out-scored the Pack on second chance points, 13-0.
 
The Skyhawks will play their next four games away from home, beginning Feb. 9-10 against Western State and Colorado Mesa.  Both games will start at 5:30 p.m.
