DURANGO, Colo. – February 8, 2018 – Fort Lewis College men's basketball student-athletes
Rasmus Bach (Austin, Texas) and
Alex Semadeni (Fort Collins, Colo.) have been named to the 2018 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic First Team, announced today by the league office.
Jason Anderson of CSU-Pueblo captures this year's RMAC Men's Basketball Academic Player of the Year award. The First Team All-Academic members were voted on by the conference's sports information directors. To be eligible for consideration, a student-athlete must carry a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (GPA) and must have been an active student at the institution for at least two consecutive semesters or three consecutive quarters. All student-athletes that meet those requirements, but were not voted First Team, automatically qualify for Honor Roll.
An Exercise Science major with a 3.55 grade point average,
Rasmus Bach is making his fourth appearance on the RMAC All-Academic Team (three times RMAC All-Academic First Team). Bach currently ranks fifth in the league in assists (4.0 per game), fifth in minutes played (33.8), 11
th in assists-turnover ratio (1.5), 13
th in free throw percentage (.831, 74-of-89), and 15
th in scoring (14.8 points per game). He has scored at least 10 points in 19 games, and at least 20 points in five games.
Alex Semadeni (3.72 grade point average, Exercise Science) has competed in all 22 games this season, averaging 6.0 points and 3.4 rebounds per game. He is shooting at a .607 clip from the floor (54-of-89) and .821 from the charity stripe (23-of-28). A 2017 NABC Honors Court honoree, Semadeni was named to the RMAC All-Academic Honor Roll in 2016 and 2017.
The Skyhawks (19-3, 15-2 RMAC) will travel to Western State Colorado University and Colorado Mesa University Feb. 9-10.
