Skyhawks Travel to Mountaineers, Mavericks

  • The Fort Lewis College men's basketball team will start their four game roadtrip with Western State and Colorado Mesa this Friday and Saturday.
  • The Skyhawks hold the best record in the league with 19-3 record overall and 15-2 in the RMAC.
  • The Mountaineers have earned a 9-14 overall record and a 7-10 RMAC record.
  • Saturday's opponent, Colorado Mesa, holds a 7-10 record in the RMAC and 11-12 overall.
  • Fort Lewis College received a No. 14 ranking in the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) poll this week. This is the Skyhawks highest ranking of the season.
  • The Skyhawks lead the RMAC in scoring offense (88.8 points per game), scoring margin (+13.0 points per game), rebounding offense (38.2), defensive rebounds (28.4) and field goal percentage (.514). The Skyhawks are second in the league in rebounding margin (second, +6.5) and assists per game (second, 18.2).
  • Senior Rasmus Bach has scored 1,702 career points.  He needs 160 points to break the all-time scoring record held by DeAndre Lansdowne (2007-11) who has 1,861 career points. Bach is currently third in the career books in scoring, second in made free throws (447), sixth in field goals made (576) and ninth in assists (297).
  • Through 22 games this season, Bach is in the top 10 in the RMAC for assists (fifth, 84), assists per game (fifth, 4.0), and minutes played (fourth, 710).
  • Brandon Wilson ranks in the top 10 in the league in rebounds per game (third, 7.8) and seventh in blocks per game (1.1).  He has been named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week three times this season (Jan. 29, 2018 Jan. 1, 2018 and Dec. 11, 2017).
  • Marquel Beasley is currently seventh in the RMAC in rebounds (7.0), third in field goal percentage (58.2), and tenth in blocked shots per game (1.0), total blocks (21).
  • Riley Farris is ranked 10th in the league for field goal percentage (54.8) and eighth for blocked shots (1.0).
  • Senior DJ Miles ranks eighth for three-point field goal percentage with a percentage of 45.1.
  • Fort Lewis College men's basketball student-athletes Rasmus Bach and Alex Semadeni have been named to the 2018 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference All-Academic First Team.
  • The Skyhawks will be on the road for the next four games before returning home on Feb. 24 to play their last regular season game against Westminster.
