Skyhawks Split Sunday’s Series with ThunderWolves

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DURANGO, Colo. – April 22, 2018 – The Fort Lewis College softball team started Sunday's home doubleheader against Colorado State-Pueblo with an 8-6 win, but lost the series finale, 6-3.
 
The Skyhawks move to 15-32 on the season and 9-27 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
 
Angelique Elemen led FLC's offense with four runs batted in and one run scored off three hits.  She tallied her 11th homerun of the season in the first inning to give FLC a 3-0 lead.
 
Madelynne Blood-Smyth went 2-for-4 with one run scored, and Robyn Hall added two hits, one RBI and one run scored.
 
Mandy Lorensen went the distance with seven strikeouts and 11 hits allowed.
 
In the series finale, FLC jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first inning after Elemen batted in Denae FisherLauren Caldwell hit a two-run homerun for the 3-0 lead.
 
Trailing 3-2 heading into the final inning, the ThunderWolves scored four runs in the top of the seventh to post the 6-3 win.
 
Kelly Decker pitched the first 6.2 innings, allowing two earned runs on 10 hits.  Kassidy Trumbo closed the game for the final out.
 
Elemen and Caldwell each accounted for two hits each.
 
Following Sunday's second game, the Skyhawks recognized seniors Tristen Gilbert and Lauren Caldwell.
 
The Skyhawks will play their final games of the regular season April 28-29 at Chadron State College.
