SALT LAKE CITY – April 27, 2018 – The Fort Lewis College women's lacrosse team closed out the regular season with a 10-9 win Friday afternoon at Westminster College in Salt Lake City. The win improves FLC to 6-6 on the season and 6-3 in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Westminster moves to 5-6 overall and 4-4 in the league.
Taylor Cabrera led the Skyhawks with five goals, 15 shots, eight shots on goal and two free position goals.
Kelli Warmouth added two goals, a game high 10 draw controls and attempted nine shots. Warmouth scored the game-winning goal with 3:31 left in the game, breaking a 9-9 tie.
Ashley Muckway picked up a game high 11 ground balls.
Daris Wienk played all 60 minutes, making 10 saves in goal.
FLC outshot the Griffins, 40-31, and picked up 48 ground balls to WC's 37. The Skyhawks also won 14 draw controls, seven more than WC.
The Skyhawks are the No. 4 seed in the RMAC Tournament and will play the No. 5 seed in the quarterfinal round on Thursday, May 3.
