DENVER – May 3, 2018 – For the second straight game, the Fort Lewis College women's lacrosse team defeated Westminster College. The Skyhawks notched a 12-11 win in double overtime over the Griffins in the quarterfinal round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Women's Lacrosse Tournament. FLC defeated WC on April 27 in their final regular season game, 10-9.
The win improves the Skyhawks, who are the No. 4 seed, to 7-6 on the season.
Kelli Warmouth scored the game-winning goal with 2:32 left in the second overtime to advance the Skyhawks to the semifinal round. Warmouth finished with three goals and led the Skyhawks with 11 shots (10 shots on goal), six ground balls and four caused turnovers.
Regan Olson tied for team high honors with three goals.
Taylor Cabrera and
Anna Dennison each tallied two goals and two assists.
Ashley Muckway won a team high eight draw controls.
In goal,
Daris Wienk made six saves.
FLC will face top seed Lindenwood University on Friday at 1 p.m.
