Softball Wins Season Finale, 5-1

CHADRON, Neb. – April 29, 2018 – The Fort Lewis College softball team finished their season with a win, recording a 5-1 victory on Sunday in the series finale at Chadron State College.  FLC lost the first game on Sunday in five innings, 9-0.

Denae Fisher became the broke the all-time record for stolen bases after stealing three bases in game two today.  She now has 48 stolen bases, breaking Chrystal Pesicka's record of 45 (1995-98),
 
Mandy Lorenson earned the win in the circle for FLC, pitching a complete game and holding the Eagles to one hit while striking out 10 batters.
 
Lauren Caldwell and Madelynne Blood-Smyth recorded home runs for the Skyhawks.  Caldwell went 1-for-3 at the plate with three runs batted in and one run scored.  Blood-Smyth added two hits, a RBI and a run scored.  Fisher posted three hits, scored twice and added a RBI.
 
FLC finished with 11 hits in the final game.
 
Sunday started with a 9-0 loss in five innings.  Allison Young and Blood-Smyth accounted for the Skyhawks two hits.
 
Kelly Decker started in the circle and allowed five runs on five hits in the first inning.  Kassidy Trumbo pitched the final 3.1 innings, surrendering three earned runs on six hits and striking out two batters.
 
The Skyhawks end the season 16-38 overall and 10-30 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games.
