DENVER – May 4, 2018 – The second ranked team in Division II, Lindenwood University, handed the Fort Lewis College women's lacrosse team an 18-8 loss Friday afternoon in the semifinal round of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Tournament, hosted by Regis University in Denver.
The Skyhawks led the Lions for more than six minutes in the first half before LU outscored FLC 10-1 to close out the half.
Kelli Warmouth recorded a hat trick to lead the Skyhawks offense. All five of her shots were on goal.
Abby Escandon added two goals, while
Brooke Galle,
Regan Olson and
Delaney Benson each found the back of the net.
Ashley Muckway tallied a game high nine draw controls.
The Skyhawks were outshot, 31-18. Both teams each won 14 draw controls.
FLC ends their season 7-7 overall. Lindenwood moves the championship game on Sunday with a perfect 18-0 record.
