Taylor to Transfer From Humboldt State to Play for Football

DURANGO, Colo. – Devon Taylor, most recently at Humboldt State University, will remain in Division II as he will transfer to play for the Fort Lewis College football team. He will enter as a redshirt sophomore for the 2019 season.

Taylor, a 6-foot-3, 335-pound offensive lineman originally from Pittsburg, Calif., redshirted during the 2017 season and this past season he was part of an offense that tallied 155 first downs, 1,302 rushing yards and 1,831 passing yards. In total the offense gained 3,133 yards and recorded 18 touchdowns, 11 through the air. Humboldt State picked up wins against Simon Fraser (twice) and came close against Azusa Pacific, falling in overtime in the second meeting, as Azusa Pacific later went on to advance to the Division II playoffs.

As a senior at Pittsburg High, he helped lead the Pirates to a 9-2 record, ranking 28th in the state of California. Taylor was part of some strong seasons during his high school career, as Pittsburg went 10-3 each of his first three seasons.
