DURANGO, Colorado —
The accolades continue to stack up for Fort Lewis College redshirt senior Riley Farris. Following a prolific 2019-20 season, the men's basketball standout was named a Preseason All-American on Thursday by the Basketball Times magazine.

Rankings for Basketball Times, a monthly publication covering NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA college basketball, were compiled by small college columnist Adam Glatczak.

Farris was the lone Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) selection on the BT Preseason All-American list. He's coming off a redshirt junior season that saw the Hutto, Texas native set career-highs in scoring at 23.9 points per game, rebounding (6.0 RPG), assists (34), and minutes played (28.0).

His 23.9 points per game was the second highest mark in the RMAC during the 2019-20 regular season and the 12th best scoring average amongst all NCAA Division II players.

"This is a well-deserved honor for Riley. We believe he is the best center in all of Division II basketball," said FLC head men's basketball coach, Bob Pietrack. "Riley has been part of our program for six years and the thing that we respect most about Riley is that he has always prioritized team success over individual accomplishments. Not only is he an All-American on the court, but he's an excellent teammate and a great representative of our program in the classroom and the community. "

Farris was named First Team All-RMAC, while also garnering Second Team D2CCA South Central Region and Second Team NABC South Central All-District honors, following his dominating 2019-20 performance.

He enters the 2020-21 season sitting 15th on the program's all-time scoring list with 1,257 career points. Farris also ranks inside the top-10 in program history for blocked shots (66) and field goals made (473) during his 95 career games.

Farris and the Skyhawks are set to open the 2020-21 season on Saturday, November 21 at home against South Dakota School of Mines.
